Every year Kilkenny, Ireland, hosts an amazing St.Patrick’s Festival & TradFest- a feast of traditional music & dance. At the park we have a specially designed family friendly orienteering course for you to enjoy for FREE. Get exercise and learn about our native trees and fauna. This runs from 13th to 21st March and can be done anytime during our opening hours (self guided)
According to legend, St. Patrick rid Ireland of snakes in the 5th century A.D. However, a number of colourful snakes have recently been spotted amongst the trees and plants at Castlecomer Discovery Park! We need your help to find them on our family-friendly orienteering trail. Will you take on the challenge?
Put your map-reading skills to the test whilst learning about our native flora. Use your map to navigate through the Park to locate the lost snakes. They are hidden amongst the many native Irish trees and plants along the woodland trails. We need you to unveil and record the names of these trees and plants where they hide so we can find the Lost Snakes. This is a fun challenge, suitable for all the family. This is a free event but booking is required. Upon booking, you will receive your trail. You can then print the trail or use it digitally.
