Castlecomer Discovery Park and Kilkenny GAA Announce Official Partnership to Elevate Underage Development Programs.
Castlecomer Discovery Park and Kilkenny GAA are thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership aimed at furthering the development of Kilkenny’s underage squads from u14 to u20. This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of hurling talent within the county.
Ther partnership brings together the sporting expertise of Kilkenny GAA and the unique facilities and educational opportunities provided by Castlecomer Discovery Park. This alliance was composed to create an enriching environment for young athletes, enabling them to thrive not only on the field but also in their personal pursuits.
Key Highlights of the Partnership
- Tailored Packages to each squad: Each squad will have a program tailored to their age group and ability. Castlecomer Discovery Park has a wide range of activities for all ages, allowing Kilkenny GAA to bring multiple age groups to the facility with their coaches. These packages will have a mix of team building activities and theoretical sessions, enabling the park and Kilkenny GAA to work together in harmony.
- Building Confidence through Team Challenges: This partnership will allow the two entities to come together to create a safe space for younger squads to gain a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be part of a team. Through these programs each squad will work together to further their teamwork skills as well as encouraging and helping each other through different challenges. The importance of having a strong bond within a team is of utmost importance to Kilkenny GAA. Establishing such programs from a young age will help build a young athlete’s and team’s confidence when it comes to playing together on the field.
- Community Engagement: GAA Teams are deeply rooted in their communities. Both organisations are committed to engaging with local communities and fostering a sense of pride and enthusiasm for the Gaelic Games.
