We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded grant aid from The Heritage Council under the Community Heritage Scheme to create an AR experience of our Coal Mining Museum.
This project will provide interactive digital access of our coal mining museum to a world wide audience, it will preserve our materials and promote wider engagement with the rich natural, social and industrial heritage of the Castlecomer.
This project offers so much opportunity for us to broaden the access of the unique history of Castlecomer to a much wider audience. We see huge scope in linking in with schools STEM curriculum as well as giving the diaspora easy access to coal mining heritage and possible family connections.
