Castlecomer Discovery Park Celebrates Kilkenny Day in Style! 10th October 2021
Kilkenny Day is about celebrating everything that is wonderful about Kilkenny city and county; our communities, our heritage, our environment, our commerce, our creativity, our food, our hospitality, our sport and above all, our people.
Nothing suits Castlecomer Discovery Park better than a reason to party, and with so much to celebrate in Castlecomer we are spoiled for choice.
This Kilkenny Day we have a number of events running, so make sure to put 10th of October in your diary.
Festival in a Van
The main event is the “Festival in a Van” at 4.30pm for a 50 minute Poetry and Traditional Music performance.
The stunning location of the Estate Yard, Castlecomer Discovery Park is the location for a unique mobile live arts event. Supported by Creative Ireland, and led by a team of theatre professionals, Festival in a Van is keeping live performance going, on the move, and is coming to Castlecomer!
Poets and Singer Songwriters all coming together to remind us just how much words can truly move.
On the day esteemed poet Mark Roper will recite a specially commissioned poem for the event. This will be accompanied by a traditional music performance.
Presented by Festival in a Van and Poetry Ireland, Supported by the Arts Council and Creative Ireland
