Unwrapping the Magic: Christmas Workshops at Castlecomer Discovery Park
The magic of Christmas has touched down at Castlecomer Discovery Park, transforming it to a whimsical haven for young minds. This December, the park is hosting three enchanting weekends of Christmas Workshops for children aged 3-6 and 7-10. Each weekend promises a unique theme, ensuring an unforgettable experience for the little ones.
🎅🏻 Weekend 1: Animal Adventure Extravaganza (December 2nd & 3rd)
The Workshops kicked off with an exciting Animal Adventure. The kids got the chance to decorate their own animal masks, they got to explore the outdoors through scavenger hunts and outdoor nature college as well as test their knowledge from the day with indoor animal pictionary.
⛄️ Weekend 2: Seasonal Science Spectacle (December 9th & 10th)
The second weekend takes a scientific twist with the Seasonal Science Spectacle. Budding young scientists will take part in Winter Wonderland Slime Making and uncovering the mysteries of winter through Snowflake Science Experiments along with an Outdoor Ice Excavation. The youngsters will finish their day by taking home their DIY Snow Globes.
🎄Weekend 3: Arts and Crafts Extravaganza (December 16th & 17th)
As Christmas draws near, creativity takes centre stage during the Arts and Crafts Extravaganza. From decorating and personalising their own ornaments and festive card making followed by festive storybook crafts and some outdoor winter sculpture making, the youngsters will truly be immersed in the magic of Christmas and the excitement of taking home all their own creations!
The workshops have been crafted to cater to the specific needs and interest of different age groups. For the younger ones (3-6 years), the morning sessions from 10am to 12pm will be filled with age – appropriate activities, ensuring the pace is jjst right for their boundless energy. The older group (7-10 years) can look forward to engaging afternoons from 1pm to 3pm, immersing themselves in more challenging and dynamic tasks.

Participation in this magical experience comes at a nominal cost of €12 per child per session. This includes all materials and guidance from the park’s dedicated staff, ensuring a seamless blend of education and entertainment.
