Book Your Primary School Tour for 2022 Now!
It is that time of year again when teachers begin to organize the end of year school tour. We would be delighted to welcome your school to Castlecomer Discovery Park, voted “Best Activity Provider for 2022” in the Irish Independent Travel Awards.
We have a wide range of activities to choose from with something to suit all class groups and sizes. We welcome the smallest to largest of schools.
Below is the full list of activities we offer with the discounted School Saver rate quoted. You can select any of these activities to create a package that best suits your group’s interests, budget and time available. Please note age/class/height requirements for particular activities.
When planning your School Tour, please also factor in time for the following:
- Settling in on arrival, toilet break etc. (approx. 15-30 mins).
- Lunch (under teacher’s supervision, approx. 30-45 mins).
- Playground visit (if desired, under teacher’s supervision, approx. 30 mins).
Adventure Activities for School Tours
- Tree-Top Adventure Walk(€11pp) with Climbing Wall (€15pp; age 7+, min. 1.2m height)
- Octagon High Ropes Course* (€11pp; 3rd-6th class, min. 1.3m height)
- Junior Woodland Adventure Course(€6 pp; Juniors – 2nd class)
- Bouncing Net(€6 pp; Juniors – 2nd class)
- Junior Woodland & Bouncing Net Combo(€10pp)
- Pedal Boating(€5pp; 3rd class upwards)
- Archery (€5pp; 2nd class upwards)
- Team Challenge Games(€5pp; 2nd class upwards)
- Orienteering(€3pp; 3rd class upwards)
- Also allow time for the Elf & Fairy Village and Timber Tumbles Playground if desired.
* Please note: Zipline is not available for Primary School Tours.

- Guided Nature Trail and Scavenger Hunt (€5pp, Jnrs-6th class)
- Water Scientists (€5pp, Jnrs-6TH class, students need wellies)
- Woodland Bug Detectives(€5 pp; Juniors – 2nd class)
- Creative Map Making (€5pp; 2nd class upwards)
- Footprints in Coal Museum (€4pp; 1st class upwards)
When you have an idea of your preferred activities, we can check available dates for you. Or if you have a particular date in mind, we can advise what activities are still available to book.
Once a reservation is made, we will send you our School Tour Booking Form and deposit request. Bookings are not confirmed until we receive your deposit and returned Tour Booking Form.
