Opening Hours

Visitor Centre, Coal Mining Exhibition & The Jarrow Restaurant

Visitor Centre opens 7 days per week in high season.  Limited hours in low season.

Weekdays: 9.30am-5pm

Weekends: 10am-5pm (May-August) and 10.30am-4pm (September-April).

Last admission to the Coal Mining Exhibition starts 1 hour before closing time.

Outdoor Activities

Outdoor Activities are available to book online and have Seasonal opening hours which vary throughout the year.

September – December (Weekends Only)

11am – 4pm

Last Booking for High Ropes is 3:30pm

July & August – (7 Days)

11am – 4 pm

Woodland Trails open daily from 8.30am until dusk

Getting Here

We are located immediately outside the town of Castlecomer on the Dublin side of the N78. We are approx. 25 min. drive from Kilkenny city and 70 mins. from Newlands Cross flyover.

We are easily accessible from the M9 and M7 motorways.

Car Parks and Associated Parking Fee Information

We have one main car park located at the front of the park close to the Visitor Centre. A parking fee applies which contributes to the general upkeep of the park.  We are a not for profit social enterprise, all income from the park supports our maintenance, insurance and general upkeep of the park.

€4 up to 3 hours
€5 for all day parking

Annual pass available from the Visitor Centre for €50
